President Kari Anne Donovan, PE, CxA, has been named to new leadership roles for the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and the Building Commissioning Association (BCxA).
A 2020 WBENC Star and a 2017 Rising Star Award recipient, Kari is now a WBENC Forum Representative on the Engagement Team. The WBENC Forum is comprised of five teams, each with its own focus. The Engagement Team focuses on engagement as a growth strategy for women-owned businesses. Team representatives share their expertise and knowledge to support business growth with the broader WBENC network.
Kari has also been named the WBEC-East Certification Committee Chair and Envoy Committee Vice Chair. The Women’s Business Enterprise Center (WBEC) East is a regional partner of WBENC and an advocate for women business owners and entrepreneurs in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey. The Certification Committee validates that businesses applying for WBENC certification are 51 percent owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman or women. Members of the Envoy Committee serve as ambassadors to help WBENC certified business women learn how to leverage the organization and their certification.
Kari has served on the board of the BCxA National Capital Chapter for the last three years as an officer. Currently, she is immediate past chapter president and has been named to the BCxA International Board of Directors. BCxA is an international nonprofit with more than 1,200 members from the commercial building industry.
