The WBE Star Award is the nation’s premier award for women’s excellence in business leadership.

(Blue Bell, Pa.) June 8, 2021 – Last year, Kari Anne Donovan, PE, CxA, President of Precis Commissioning (PrecisCx), was recognized as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) Star by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the nation’s largest certifier of women-owned businesses and leader in women’s business development. The WBE Star Award is the nation’s premier recognition for excellence among women-owned businesses, honoring 14 women from across the country who are leaders in their local business communities and respective fields.

Because the 2020 WBENC Summit & Salute scheduled for last March was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 WBE Stars will be honored at the WBENC 2021 Focus on the Future virtual event throughout June, starting on June 8.

“We could not be prouder of the 2020 WBE Stars,” says Pamela Prince-Eason, President and CEO of WBENC. “Each one of them exemplifies the vital role women-owned businesses play in our economy. They are outstanding leaders, mentors, and innovators. We’re so excited to honor them as part of our virtual event.”

“While I was disappointed to miss the in-person celebration last year, I am honored to have this recognition by WBENC and to be able to celebrate virtually with the other honorees,” said Donovan. “I look forward to continuing to serve as an example and advocate for women in business.”

As part of the month-long celebration, Donovan will participate in the WBENC Healthcare Think Tank: Disruption and Innovation – Intersectionality and Outcomes on June 22 at 2 pm to share her perspective on the health and pharmaceutical industry.

Donovan founded PrecisCx in 2014 to provide quality-focused facility commissioning and qualification services to building owners and managers in the biotech, pharmaceutical, R&D, healthcare, university, and commercial markets. As a professional engineer (PE) and certified commissioning authority (CxA), Donovan leads a team of similarly credentialed professionals who ensure building systems and components perform as expected. As President, Donovan oversees PrecisCx operations and projects while fostering a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and support, where high standards of excellence guide and define each project. She holds a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from Penn State and volunteers with numerous organizations including Girls Exploring Tomorrow’s Technology (GETT) and the Building Commissioning Association (BCxA).

Donovan earned recognition for her business acumen, her inspiration to other women, and her active role at the helm of PrecisCx. WBENC Regional Partner Organization, WBEC-East selected Donovan for the honor. Donovan has been a member and volunteer with WBEC-East since 2015 and was named a Shining Star Award winner in 2017.
